Both Dennis Rodman and his
wife Carmen Electra recently were arrested in Miami Beach on charges
of domestic violence.
Miami Beach Detective
Al Boza told JET that police officers were summoned to a hotel in the
trendy South Beach area of Miami Beach when guests complained of loud
noises.
Rodman told officers
that after partying at local clubs he returned to the hotel and went
to sleep only to wake up when Electra (whose real name is Tara
Patrick) poked him with a rose stem and punched him.
The arrest record
indicated that Electra told officers that they were watching
television when Rodman became 'agitated' when he saw a former
boyfriend of hers on MTV. 'You -- whore, get the -- out of here. Go
with Fred,' he reportedly told her.
She further alleged
that he grabbed her and threw her on the bedroom floor, yelling and
screaming at her. He then threw her outside the room on the concrete
walkway, she said in the report.
She re-entered the room
and, according to the report, began punching him about the body and
yelled 'How could you do this to me?' 'Both began to wrestle on the
bed,' the report said.
When she fled to
another room, Rodman reportedly followed and threw her purse at her.
Boza said 'the injuries
were extremely minor. There was a minor scratch on her lip.' Rodman's
shirt was torn.
Both were arrested.
'Officers have no latitude since it was a domestic violence call,'
Boza said. 'It doesn't matter if the parties are married or not or are
of the same sex.'
Rodman appeared to be
near tears in court when he and Electra were ordered to stay away from
each other. The former star of the Chicago Bulls and L.A. Lakers
reportedly was in the area shooting a movie.
